ourmealplan is an app for saving recipes, planning meals and making grocery lists, run by Secore Software Inc. (“Secore”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, why, who helps us run the service, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to run ourmealplan, we never sell your information, and there are no ads or tracking.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and profile picture with us.
- What you add: recipes, notes, ratings, photos, meal plans, grocery lists, kitchen items, household details you choose to give (such as how many people you cook for and foods to avoid), store preferences and any loyalty card numbers you save.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact page or feedback forms.
- Technical information: the basic logs our hosting providers keep to run and secure the service, such as IP address, browser type and the time of requests.
ourmealplan doesn’t use advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. The app keeps a copy of your data in your browser so it opens quickly, and sets a cookie only if you connect a Kroger account.
How we use it
- To run your account and keep your recipes, plans and lists in sync on your devices.
- To provide the features you use, such as importing recipes, estimating nutrition, suggesting recipes and building grocery lists.
- To send emails about your account, such as sign-up confirmations and password resets. We don’t send marketing emails.
- To answer your messages, fix problems and keep ourmealplan secure.
Information from Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google and use them only to create your account and sign you in. We don’t ask for access to your Gmail, contacts, calendar or any other Google data.
ourmealplan’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Who helps us run ourmealplan
We share information only with the services that run ourmealplan for us, and only what each needs:
- Supabase: stores your account and data (in Canada) and handles sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website and app.
- Resend: delivers account emails.
- Anthropic: provides the AI that reads recipes and estimates nutrition. Only what that feature needs is sent, such as a recipe link, text or photo you chose to import.
- Kroger and Instacart: only if you use grocery ordering, to send your list to them.
- Google: only if you sign in with Google.
Recipe photos from websites are shown directly from those websites. We never sell your information or share it for advertising. We may disclose information if required by law.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can download a backup of your recipes and plans at any time from Profile. To delete your account and everything in it, send a request through our contact page; we’ll delete it within 30 days, apart from anything we must keep by law.
Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections and protected so that only your account can read it. Photos you upload to recipes are stored at long, random web addresses so they can be shown in the app; anyone given one of those exact addresses could open that photo. No service can be perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.
Children
ourmealplan isn’t intended for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the date above, and for important changes we’ll tell you in the app or by email.
