Our story
After retiring from technology management in 2014, Alvin began spending more time in the kitchen cooking for his family — and found himself spending that time inefficiently.
There had to be a better way than sifting through loose-leaf recipes in a binder and hand-writing a grocery list after finally deciding on the week’s meal plan. But there wasn’t. So rather than wait for a solution, Alvin began building one.
Where we’re at, and where we’re headed
Years later, ourmealplan has grown, with the whole family helping move it forward. It stores your recipes, helps you build a meal plan and automatically generates your grocery list.
With the essentials in place, our focus now is the details — making every part of ourmealplan a joy to use.

Alvin holds a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Alberta and spent over 20 years in the technology industry before retiring and founding ourmealplan.
